04 Jan WRITING BY DESIGN ADDS TO ACCOLADES WITH THREE GOLD MARCOM AWARDS
Appleton-based marketing agency Writing by Design recently won three gold awards in the 17th Annual 2020 MARCOM Awards, an international creative competition for marketing and communication professionals, for work it completed for clients in 2020. More than 5,000 entries were submitted from the U.S., Canada and 28 other countries from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, public relations firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers.
Writing by Design received a gold award, in the Digital Media | Writing (Web) | 280. Blog (Overall) category for the Verve, a Credit Union, Life and Money blog, for which it writes nine monthly blog posts to help credit union members learn more about a variety of financial topics, including creating a budget, improving credit, managing debt, money etiquette, family finances, home life and travel tips.
Writing by Design also earned gold awards in the Digital Media | Web Element | 246. Other — Digital Program Guide and Print Media | Design (Print) | 115. Program Guide category for the business survival guide developed for LiftFund’s Women’s Business Centers of Dallas and San Antonio COVID-19 Business Resiliency Programs. The award-winning work included ideating, writing and designing a 24-page guide to help small businesses bounce back from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The theme of this year’s MARCOM Awards was ‘Navigating Turbulent Times’ and the work we completed for our clients that won awards was designed to help people navigate through the pandemic a little more easily. It is very rewarding whenever we receive recognition for our work, but to round out 2020 with a set of three gold awards meant so much to us as a small business navigating the pandemic ourselves,” Patti Purcell, president of Writing by Design, said. “I am so proud of our team of experienced and creative marketers who deliver award-winning work to our clients every day, and who ranked alongside marketers from PepsiCo, Yamaha, Adobe and more.”
Writing by Design also received three MARCOM honorable mentions; one for informational videos it created for the LiftFund COVID-19 Business Resiliency Program, one for writing/web content for LK Coaching & Consulting and one for radio ads for Moraine Park Technical College, adding to six 2020 Hermes Awards and three 2020 Communicator Awards.
