17 Apr Local Agency Earns Multiple International Awards Two Years in a Row
Appleton-based marketing agency Writing by Design recently won six awards—including one platinum, three gold and two honorable mentions—in the 2020 Hermes Creative Awards competition for work it completed for three of its clients, as well as for its own marketing communications.
The international competition, administered by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals, is designed for creative professionals involved in concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. “I am so proud of our small-but-mighty team for taking home six Hermes Awards,” Patti Purcell, president of Writing by Design, said. “Last year we earned two gold awards, so earning both platinum and gold awards this year in a competition that puts us alongside corporate marketing departments, PR firms, large advertising agencies, design firms, production companies and freelancers, is icing on the cake.”
Writing by Design earned a platinum award in the Print Media | Marketing Collateral/Branding | Holiday Card category for its own holiday card. The card’s sleek, peppermint-swirl design featured a holiday greeting, a photo of the fudge and recipe for an easy-to-make holiday treat that accompanied a client gift containing the ingredients for making it. Writing by Design wanted to give clients a gift that not only was sweet, but also could help make clients’ lives a little easier during a busy holiday season.
For its video work with LiftFund, a nonprofit organization that helps finance new small businesses and startup companies, Writing by Design earned a gold award in the Electronic Media / Social Media / Interactive Media | Video | Informational category.
