Holly Hurst joins the team

Hurst brings more than 20 years of experience in communications and marketing strategy and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison to her new role. She will be responsible for the ideation and execution of communication strategies, copywriting, and client support for the agency’s clients.

Before joining Writing by Design, Hurst worked as a freelance copywriter and manager for key accounts with established marketing agencies in Northeast Wisconsin as well as a contributor for Lonely Planet.

In previous roles, Hurst specialized in marketing communications and strategy with an emphasis in healthcare and health information management where she was responsible for the creation of sales collateral, internal and external customer communications, newsletters, white papers, case studies, web and social media content as well as writing and coordinating responses for requests for proposals (RFPs).

“Holly brings a depth of communications expertise and industry knowledge that we know is necessary to support our continuing growth,” said Patti Purcell, Writing by Design president.

For Hurst, joining Writing by Design is an opportunity to become part of a collaborative and supportive team while creating meaningful, ongoing client relationships.

“I enjoyed working as a freelancer, but I missed the comradery of being part of a team,” she said. “I wanted to find a permanent role that offered diverse and challenging opportunities, and with their growing list of local, national and international clients, Writing by Design will certainly provide them!”
